Over the past few weeks I have been writing about living in the world of energy from the point of view of the shaman. We are made up of energy and we live in a universe where everything is vibrating energy. As shared, the Andean shamans understan d energy on a continuum from light, organized, refined and compatible energy that flows from the living energy of the Universe and helps us achieve balance and harmony in ourselves and with others and the world around us—an energy they call sami to the heavy, dense, disorganized and incompatible energy that creates imbalance and disharmony and does not best serve us in our relationships with others and the earth—an energy they call hucha.
I’ve also been teaching that we have the ability to move that energy—to send and receive energy—and that means both kinds of energy. We can send and receive sami and we can send and receive hucha. As we awaken to this awareness, we must decide what energy we are going to send and receive and allow into our field.
We must learn how to live as an energy being in a world where everything is energy. Every word we speak and every action we take, from the simplest tasks like breathing, walking and eating to the complexities of our emotions and thoughts, requires energy. As I was instructed by the solar flares in a shamanic journey several years ago, “words are energy fields that vibrate with the meaning and the very manifestation of the words, so choose your words carefully”, our emotions and thoughts, whether positive or negative, or as the shaman might say “sami” or “hucha” carry their own energetic vibrations that shape our experiences and have an impact on the world around us. What might happen if we think of ourselves as transmitters of energy? What is it that we want to create?
We are continually sending out signals energetically that tell the universe about ourselves. These signals can either attract or repel other energies that match their vibrations. If we want to attract different circumstances or outcomes, we must adjust our thoughts, emotions, and overall energy to align with what we desire.
The message of the shaman is that our planet needs a mature human, one that is grounded in its own sense of connection to the earth, a human committed to life continuing in ways that are in harmony with natural cycles and ecosystems. By consciously monitoring and changing the signals we send out, we can create such a human. We are so much more powerful than we ever imagined.
By understanding how to transmit the vibrations of a desired life, we can fundamentally change not only our worlds but the world. Recently, I came across a YouTube video, Once You Learn to Vibrate Correctly, It is Magical. The author said “Watch your thoughts. They become words. Watch your words. They become actions. Watch your actions. They become habits. Watch your habits. They become character. Watch your character. It becomes your destiny.” They are all energy—thoughts, words, actions, habits, character and destiny—are all vibrations of energy that we radiate out into the world around us. And those vibrations affect and influence the collective narrative. You can access that YouTube video here:
Our thoughts, emotions and actions are the seeds that manifest our future. It's important to be mindful of how we allocate our energy because it follows our attention. Ultimately, it is up to us to decide what kind of energy and where to direct that energy. Those energies contain the seeds of our becoming both individually and collectively.
From the shaman’s point of view, it is important to keep our energy bodies clear from as much hucha as possible. While it’s true that “the energy of the one is continually exchanging energy with the other”, we can become aware of that energy exchange. When we notice that we have taken on hucha from someone or from some incompatible and disempowering thought field or other energy field, we can clear our field and give that energy to the Earth. Even as we track the players in our current world situation as KW Norton has expressed in her recent substack “Tracking the Guys Who Track Us”, we don’t have to take in their energy or the energy of their words. And if you notice a disturbance in your energy field, take a moment, breathe in and notice where you have taken that energy in, take your hand and feel the energy, turn your hand and fingers in a counterclockwise motion and clear the energy imprint out of your field by breathing into it and exhaling while pulling and moving the energy out with your hand. Give it to Mother Earth. We have the power to move energy. If you notice that an energy cord has attached to you, take the edge of your hand, or take a knife or even a feather and cut the cord, release it to Mothe Earth. Then upgrade your field with some sami. Reach up above your head, into the 8th chakra and pull that refined, ordered, divine light that flows through the Universe through the 8th chakra and into the place in your body where you released the hucha, bringing light to your field, bringing harmony and balance to your field. Now, bring your attention to your heart, activate an elevated emotion of gratitude, compassion, care, forgiveness and love, appreciation and joy. Breathe into the elevated emotion, feel the vibration and then radiate that energy through your body and out around you and into the world. Change the vibration.
