Last Saturday I joined Alberto Villoldo and the Four Winds for their on-line Summer Solstice ceremony. As part of the presentation, Alberto drew 3 cards from the Mystical Shaman Oracle Deck to help us identify what we needed to release into the fire ceremony at this time. Prior to showing us the cards, he asked each of us to select a number between 1 and 3 and that would be the card that was particularly for us. The first card he drew was the Hummingbird. Card number 2 was the Rainmaker and card 3 was the Sorcerer. I had selected number 2. So, my card was the Rainmaker.
According to the deck’s manual, “the Rainmaker is the master of manifestation, who can call on the elements of nature to serve the greater good. When the power to co-create is used with integrity, great beauty and benefit flow to all. When this power is used for personal gain only, everyone suffers. When the earth is parched, the Rainmaker calls the water from the heavens, and all that is dormant in the fields and in people’s hearts springs to life again.”
The invitation of the Rainmaker calls us “to create something new from the elements that are already in your life. Be sure you work with what is, and not with what might be or could have been. The seeds that have been silently germinating in your heart will burst forth ready for the sunlight. Do not hold back; put all your chips on the next roll of the divine dice!
The Rainmaker continues, “Recognize how you are co-creating your world—nothing is happening ‘out there’ without your involvement. Remember that the world is only mirroring back to you the condition of your love and your intent, so change these within before you take any action. Do not take life personally.”[1]
Alberto had us reflect on what beliefs, assumptions, judgments and behaviors are getting in the way of what we need or want to manifest. The call of the Rainmaker is to work with what is and not with what might be or could have been. This reminds me that we create and manifest from the present moment because in the present moment there are unlimited possibilities. When I get caught in “what might be”, I am in the future and when I get caught in “what might have been”, I am caught in the past. Both move me out of the present moment and set up limitations for manifesting what wants to come into reality. For example, I’m currently involved in a project where I find myself wondering, even worrying about how it will be received, will it be seen as valid and serve as a convincing model. The Rainmaker reminded me to “create from the elements that are already in your life.” So, I blew the worrying and the wondering and the judgments of “what might be” or “what could have been” into the death arrow stick and burned them in the fire, I then embraced the light of the elements that were already in my life as seeds silently germinating in my heart that will burst forth for the sunlight, putting all energies of those elements “on the next roll of the divine dice” where there are unlimited possibilities for what they will manifest for the benefit of all.
Here is a guided journey to a fire ceremony to release what is the way of manifesting what you want to manifest and to connect to the Rainmaker’s energy of manifestation. For this ceremony you will need a stick like a skewer or toothpick and a candle.
